Rose Namajunas is one of the top female athletes in the UFC. She started her career as an amateur fighter, participating in regional competitions prior to signing with Invicta Fighting Championships and later signing up with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). After joining the UFC in 2011 she was a household-name due to the success that she had achieved on and off the Octagon. Namajunas is a Lithuanian immigrant who was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on June 29, 1992. Rose participated in kickboxing and basketball throughout her childhood. She made her debut in professional competition aged 18 at the Invicta Fighting Championships, where she won two fights via submission. The fights caught the eye to Dana White who signed her to be a part of the UFC Strawweight at the age of twenty-two years of age. Throughout Rose's professional career, she's been through periods of highs and lows but each victory has been hers. Rose was a fighter against Carla Esparza in April 2015 in the Women's Strawweight Title. Rose won the bout by technical knockout within 3 minutes after the start of the round. It was the first ever female to fight to win a title in any major organization worldwide. In the aftermath of this win Namajunas continued to win more successful fights including defeating Joanna Jedrzejczyk twice which earned her Performance Of The Night honors from UFC after these wins .
